The suspect in a police manhunt that led to the closure of several roads in Southbury is in custody, state police said Monday afternoon.

The man is uninjured but being evaluated by EMS, state police said.

Further details were not immediately released.

Original report:

There are several road closures Monday morning as a result of a police standoff that began at a Southbury home overnight.

Connecticut State Police troopers responded to a disturbance at a residence on Purchase Brook Road in Southbury at about 2 a.m. Monday.

Troopers made contact with the accused party and that individual, who may be in possession of a firearm, has refused to exit the residence to speak with troopers, state police said.

Personnel from the CSP Emergency Services Unit (ESU) have responded to the scene and are communicating with the accused party regarding his exiting the residence.

There were no injuries reported during the disturbance and there is no threat to the public.

The road closures/detours are in place in the area around Purchase Brook Road.
